Gomer Hughes was my grandfather, his rugby career was all over by the time I came along and he was living in Swinton ,Manchester. However his reputation amd popularity locally was evident when I was growing up, and I am very proud of my Welsh ancestry and my grandfathers' acheivments.

Gomer Hughes was my great uncle and still today they proudly show off his photos in the welsh strip at the rugby club in Tonmawr ( the illage where he was born and grew up)
