A great north Newcastle centre.short ,stocky and powerful a great all round player, but extremely good in defense.His nickname was " chip ".

He was small in stature but was a great tackler. He represented Newcastle against the pommels. He is one of 34 players from the famous north Newcastle club to have played for country firsts. North have produced more players than any other club in Newcastle to have represented country. Most were north juniors not " imports " bought from other clubs. The bluebag
