Biography

NSW Country Player of the Year (whilst playing for Griffith in 1965) represented NSW at fullback that year. Moraschi came to Balmain in 1966, playing centre in the grand final loss to St George, but then chose to sit out the 1969 season (the year the Tigers won the premiership) in protest over the NSWRL's transfer system. He subsequently played for Norths in the early 1970s.

Laurie was a wonderful player, neat and made plenty of breaks. Amazing that he only scored one try for Balmain over a three year period. That stat belies his talent!
